If you are a guest we are happy to help get you started in KCRG! On Sunday morning, please report to the Children’s Ministry Welcome Center, located on the first floor of North Metro Church, (NMC). Volunteers will be there to assist you in the registration process and escort you and your child to their classroom.

How do I register my child into KCRG?

If you are a guest, come by our Children’s Ministry Registration Desk in the bookstore lobby. There will be a volunteer there to assist you and your child. They will help you determine your child’s appropriate class, give you a nametag with a temporary security number, and walk you to your child’s classroom.

When can I take my child to their classroom?

Classrooms open 15 minutes prior to the beginning of each service.

What is the security policy for picking up my child?

All parents are given a security tag with an individual number that corresponds with the nametag on your child. You must show your security tag before entering the KCRG hallways and picking your child up from their classroom. If you misplace your security tag, you will be asked to show your driver’s license to pick up your child.

What if my child gets sick during the service?

If we notice a sick child in a room or if a child gets sick while in a classroom, we will call the parent by flashing the child’s number on the paging system located near the screens during the service.

What can my child expect while in KCRG?

Sunday mornings are packed full of exciting lessons, worship, and activities. Our Preschoolers spend worship time in the Island, a time of worship geared toward our younger children with song, fun teachings, and visits from some of our super heroes and other characters. Every Sunday our Elementary classes come together to participate in a high, energy time of worship and teaching. To view past Elementary environments, click here.

Do you have a Special Needs Ministry?

North Metro Church welcomes families with special needs children. We work with families and volunteers to place a volunteer Shepherd with a special needs child who can participate in class with the child. If you are interested in more information, please contact Julie Majors at jmajors@northmetro.org

Once you've dropped off your child, there are two main components of your child's KCRG experience: Large Group and Small Group.

KCRG uses small groups to establish community and authentic relationships in each of our classrooms. When you sign your child into a classroom on Sunday mornings, he or she will be assigned to a table with a small group leader and several other students. Every Sunday, your child will be assigned to the same small group leader with the same students to encourage him or her to develop friendships with both peers and leaders.

In the small group setting, the weekly lesson is applied to the students’ individual lives through discussion and activities. Small group leaders bring both personal insight and guidance to the students’ learning process.

In order to effectively develop positive, authentic relationships, please sign your child into the same class time each week.

KCRG has three age appropriate large group environments; The Island, Broadcast Room, and Backlot. Each environment is designed to teach your kids about God's word in an engaging and fun way.

In the Island, children are taught Biblical truths and scripture memorization using fresh and relevant methods. We use repetition, hand motions, drama and guest characters to enhance the truth that is taught. Worship leaders present songs, new and old, to help cultivate the students’ heart for worship.

In the Broadcast Room, large group teachers use the Bible to teach God’s Truth and incorporate current student scenarios to make the lesson come alive. Worship leaders present songs, new and old, to help cultivate the students’ heart for worship. Once a month we have KCRG Live. During KCRG live, students interact with the KCRG characters by playing the role of the studio audience. The radio and TV station personalities instruct the students in life lessons and Biblical truths through drama and other media avenues.

The fourth and fifth grade students get a behind-the-scenes look at KCRG as they are seated in the large group environment of The Back Lot. Our teachers strive to prepare these students for their middle school years by teaching biblical truths while remaining culturally relevant. The students are also exposed to a variety of teaching strategies through interactive games and music.

Our live KCRG band leads the students in singing while helping to cultivate the students’ heart for worship. Current and traditional worship songs are taught to the students that relate to the Bible Story and current teaching theme.
