About This Group
Before our wedding, we received countless pieces of advice from older couples. “Never go to bed upset.” “Learn each other’s love language.” “Never say that their food tastes bad!” There is so much that can be learned from couples who have gone before us, but good advice tends to get left at the altar as you embark on your marriage journey independently. Early in our first year of marriage, we joined a small group and began studying God’s word together. That, alongside joining a community of other believers in a similar stage of life, did – and still does – more for our marriage than any practical advice we had received. Our heart for this group is to provide its members with a Christ-centered, Biblically-based community that helps establish a firm marriage foundation through the study of God’s word and “doing life” together. We will meet weekly on Thursday nights from 7:00-9:00pm, initially at NMC’s Barret Campus. During our meeting times, we will open God’s word to study topics about marriage, as well as more general subjects, such as books of the New Testament. We believe that couples who laugh together last together, so there will be LOTS of fun social events as well! We are a group of newly wedded couples without children. Please know that you don’t have to be a Bible scholar to be a part of this group. All you need is a desire to grow your marriage, make new friends, and learn from God’s word.
